MILK & HONEY: Virginia Beach

In July, 2025, I started working for Thompson-Hospitality. This is a Black Owned, Family-ran Organization which has been around for over 30 years. It’s currently one of the Largest Food Services/Restaurant companies in the Country.

MILK & HONEY, Virginia Beach, opened in ATLANTIC PARK (@AtlanticParkVB), the first weekend in July, 2025. Located at 415 19th Street, and it came just in time for all of the new things happening at the Oceanfront. I was informed they were hiring and I couldn’t miss out on the opportunity.

I was familiar with Milk & Honey because I’d been to a few in the DMV area. The service was always on point and the food was Amazing so of course I was glad to be added to the family.

At the Virginia Beach location, Andrew Good is the General Manager, Thomas Adams, who is also a True Purple Lover like me, is the Assistant Manager and the Executive Chef, is Chef Rome. Along with the other Chefs, Prep Cooks, Servers, Bartenders, Host, EXPO and Bussers, as well as the dishwashers, we work hand and hand to assure everything is FIVE STAR Quality from the time you walk in until the time you leave!

As soon as you step into MILK & HONEY, its a whole VIBE! I think we have one of the best playlist on the Oceanfront. You’ve never heard a better playlist at a Southern restaurant. Don’t be surprised if you hear a jam come on and all of the tables with guest break out in a KARAOKE moment where we are all singing together. Reminding me why I LOVE US, EVERYTIME!

You will be greeted by a Hostess/Host, and no matter where you sit, it will be the Perfect seat for you and your guest. And whether you come alone or with some friends and or family, you also have the option to sit at the bar. On nice days, there’s also the option to be seated outside. *whispering,-> and if we want to show off, there’s even windows that go up for an outdoor breeze, while indoors, BOW!*

(artwork by Creative Bre)

There’s artwork by Local Black Artist, like one of my favorites, Creative Bre (@CreativeBre). She is the Owner/CEO/Creator of, Art For The Culture, LLC. You can even purchase Art Work, Literally, off of the walls at Milk & Honey. I wasn’t able to buy an Original piece as of yet, however, I did buy a copy of WHITNEY from her website because I love taking a picture in front of it (The Original), everyday before my shift. It reminds me that, I’M EVERY WOMAN and now I am a new ‘Art Collector’.

*There are barcodes underneath the various artwork by other artist as well, which allows you to see other pieces that are available for sale. I hope you check it out and Support Black Creatives.*

Once you’re seated, you will be greeted by the main person who will take care of you during your dining experience. I like to offer our various water options and then ask if you’d like to start of with something other than water to drink. We have great Mocktails and Cocktails as well as Towers for the table. We also off Lattes, Hot or Iced.

*M-F 3p-6p, it’s HAPPY HOUR on all cocktails, wines and beers.*

After I take the drink orders, I go over the Appetizers.

  • The Biscuits, you get 2, and it comes with a sweet potato butter and a sweet jam that’s made in house.
  • The deviled eggs are unique because they’re deep fried then stuffed back with the egg and you can have them with or without bacon crumbles on top.
  • The fried green tomatoes are one of my favorites. You get 3 fried green tomatoes topped with a vinaigrette, spinach cream, shredded cheese roasted baby tomatoes, arugula, corn… served with a green goddess dressing which is made in-house. *Drooling*
  • The crispy calamari has jalapenos and asparagus mixed in. This also comes with the green goddess dressing.
  • The honey Obay wings comes with 6 pieces and we make the honey Obay sauce in house. Served with green goddess dressing.

When it comes to the Main Course options, although its a simple menu, there are enough delicious choices to choose from. Some of my favorite dishes (not pictured) are, The Crispy Salmon Hash, Pan-Seared Salmon & Grits and our Tail of Two Fish. We also have sides like Mac & Cheese and Collard Greens.

For a full course experience I always recommend trying our dessert, and no worries, if you are full by this time, you do have the option to take it To-Go. The Peach Cobbler and Banana Cheesecake Pudding are my top favorite and we also have a Sweet Potato Bread Pudding and Ice-Cream.

So far, in the 7 months that I’ve been at MILK & HONEY VB, I’ve had the pleasure of making sure, 1 half of 2026 Grammy Award Winner from THE CLIPSE, Pusha T, Coko from SWV, her son (and lovely family), and even the current Mayor of The City of Virginia Beach, Robert “Bobby” Dyer, had a wonderful time while dining with us. What an Honor.

I don’t look at the reviews as often as I should but when I do, I love seeing the ones some of my customers leave about me. Be sure to leave a review after your experience because it helps us improve where and if needed and it also motivates us and let’s us know how we are doing. Leaving a review also let’s others know about your personal experience with us.

So be sure to visit us at MILK & HONEY, Virginia Beach. We are opened EVERYDAY, 9am-9pm (Fri/Sat we close at 10pm). M&H is a great place to celebrate a Birthday, Anniversary, Being Alive, ME TIME and simply if you want to support Black Owned Businesses.

Really and Truly, I haven’t had a bad or rude customer at all. I love the conversations I have with each table I serve. My goal is to make sure each person has an Amazing Experience, so much so, they can’t wait to return with more guest and show them first hand on what the ‘MILK & HONEY Hospitality’ is really all about.

Usually we hear and read about restaurants from a customers Point Of View, I hope you’ve enjoyed my personal experience from someone who works behind the scene. I want you to know this is my honest opinion and not because I work here.

Thank You for Reading and as Always,

SPREAD LOVE ITS THE BKLYNTYE WAY!
