MACYs THANKSGIVING DAY PARADE in NYC 2025

When I was a kid, every few years, my mom would take my cousins and I to the Annual MACYs THANKSGIVING DAY PARADE! in NYC. This would be a morning we’d anticipate. We’d leave out Thursday morning with some hot chocolate and make our way to the train. Back then, we would have to leave early so we could be as close to the front as possible.

This year, thanks to my family connections (IYKYK), I traveled from Virginia, by bus, and had an automatic, up close view and was given endless options of Coffee, Tea, Hot Chocolate, a list of snacks, as well as bagels and pretzels. We were given hand warmers but I’m glad it wasn’t Too cold this year. Last year it rained so, it could’ve been horrible weather. This is a RAIN or SHINE event.

There were various bands from different State Universities. There were also Cheerleaders. There were clowns that came by throwing confetti and interacting with the kids that were standing around me. I was also with a family friend and her kids. I was happy to see them having as much fun as I used to have when I was their ages.

The balloons are always a big attraction and it takes many people to hold them in place. I’m sure there is a system because the wind is always blowing in between the buildings and when it rains I know they become extra heavy. Then you have to consider the blocks they turn on as well. I give them a lot of credit. And we have to appreciate them because they are a part of what makes the Parade come together.

There were a few balloons I have seen before but there were also a few I’d never seen and some that were new this year. I get a bit More Excited for the FLOATS that pass by with my favorite Children’s TV Characters and there’s always a few Celebrities, from TV/Film, People in Music of various genres. And I Always get Super Hyped when I see Sesame Street roll by!

This year, Cynthia Erivo Opened the Parade with an Amazing rendition of “Feelin’ Good” (Watch here: Cynthia Erivo: Macy’s Day Thanksgiving Day Parade 2025 ). Busta Rhymes and Teyana Taylor were also on Floats. I was happy to also see The PEANUTS. I’m telling you, I am forever a BIG KID when it comes to this Parade.

This years’ Parade marks the 99th year and as usual it ended with Santa on his Sleigh. I look forward to attending the 100th MACYs THANKSGIVING DAY PARADE 2026. To me, the Parade marks the Official Start of the WINTER HOLIDAY SEASON CELEBRATIONS. Now NYC waits for the ROCKAFELLA TREE to arrive. As tradition, the Rockefella will have the Tree Lighting Celebration on December, 3rd 2025.

If you have never been to NYC for the Thanksgiving Day Parade, I recommend you attend it at least once in this lifetime. This is an event your kids will remember forever and it is what makes a great family vacation.

Thank you for Reading and as Always, SPREAD LOVE ITS THE BKLYN TYE WAY!
